Improving bottling performance in a large brewery

Even in high-performance systems, the timely intervention of employees in the event of a malfunction is crucial. Tracking the time between machine stoppages is one of the most effective and quickest methods for identifying areas for improvement. To record these manual efforts, we have implemented an MTBX (Mean Time Between Issues) system. This allows us to record and statistically analyze activities related to troubleshooting and error prevention.

Objectives:

  • Continuous improvement of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and product quality
  • Focus on relevant problems according to the 80/20 Pareto principle
  • Easy downtime tracking

Implemented solution:

  • Rapid problem detection via four touchscreens
  • Quantification and statistical analysis
  • Easy configuration

Key results:

  • Continuous loss detection
  • Sustainable and successful operation
  • Maximum efficiency with minimal control effort
